Newegg Tiger
Pursuing a new voice for the Newegg brand, I created a design based on a colorful illustration of a tiger and simply put eggs on the sunglasses and slapped in a Newegg logo.
This was the most radical visual ever to reach Newegg’s brand marketing which up to that point had relied on heavy use of the Newegg logo and brand colors navy blue and orange. The success of the shirt saw active viewers of Newegg Live asking to purchase the shirt themselves. These were also given away as part of a t-shirt contest at PAX East and PAX West. Despite it’s origin as a stock image, very minor changes to the imagery changed the original associated meanings to become more distinct and unique especially when trying to connect with a younger generation with modern design aesthetics.
